Associate
Eligibility
If you are a Pakistani, registered by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), as a “Registered Engineer”, a “Professional Engineer” or a “Consulting Engineer”, in the discipline of Civil Engineering, you may apply to become an Associate.
- Any Pakistani national, who belongs to such a profession or discipline as is allied to civil engineering, but is not civil engineering, may be considered for joining the Pakistan Society of Civil Engineers (PSCE), as an Affiliate.
- Such professions include, but are not limited to, transportation engineering, surveying, quantity surveying, construction management, architectural engineering, geological engineering and geology.
- In order to eligible to be join PSCE as Affiliate, such as person shall possess an academic qualification equivalent to a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, duly recognized by the body legally charged with the responsibility of determining the acceptability of the said academic qualification.
- A student belonging to such a profession may be considered for joining PSCE as a Student Affiliate.
- Except where not expressly amended, and where not repugnant to the context, the general existing rules relating to Associate and Student Associate, shall apply to Affiliate and Student Affiliate, respectively.
Fee
Fee, for maintaining the status of an Associate of the PSCE, is currently PKR 1,000 per annum.
Procedure
- PSCE “Associateship Application Form” may either be downloaded from its website or obtained from the PSCE office.
- An interested eligible applicant shall duly fill out the application form and submit it to the PSCE The fee need not be deposited, at the time of submitting the application form.
- The Board of Directors of PSCE shall review the application and may, in its discretion, either accept, defer, or decline the request within three calendar months of the receipt of each application.
- The Board of Directors shall not be bound to attach any reasons for its decision and its decision shall be final.
- The decision would be communicated to the applicant within a reasonable time.
- Successful applicants shall be asked to deposit the First Annual Associateship Fee to the PSCE, following the procedure, communicated to the applicant.
- Associate status shall remain valid till such time that the person remains in good standing and his or her status is not withdrawn by a decision of the Board of Directors of PSCE.
