An eminent geotechnical engineer of Pakistan, over thirty-seven years of teaching, research and practicing experience in Pakistan and abroad. Mr. Kibria obtained his Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering in1980 and Master degree in Geotechnical Engineering in 2004, both from his alma mater viz. University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore Pakistan. In between, he studied at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and Pakistan Institute of Management (PIM), to earn a handful of diplomas. He has acquired a series of trainings and attended a host of Seminars / Workshops / Conferences in Pakistan, Malaysia, South Korea, Nepal, U.K., France. UAE, Oman etc. as a part of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
He has gained significantly rich geotechnical experience of working on diverse engineering projects including nuclear power plants, irrigation and hydraulic works, dams, sewerage and drainage works, hydropower projects, water supply, highways, motorways, buildings, airports and bridges. He has carried out professional works in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Dominica, Afghanistan, Oman, UAE, Qatar, U.K., France, China and Ethiopia. He is an author of over sixty research papers, which have been printed and presented in Conferences / Seminars in Pakistan and abroad.
Mr. Kibria has main interests in soil dynamics, ground improvement, foundation engineering, landslides, field and laboratory practices. Besides high geotechnical capability, he has demonstrated outstanding project management skills too. He is married with two children and lives in Lahore, Pakistan.
